Koh Lanta is situated in the southern most district of Krabi Province, approximately 70 kilometers from Krabi province. It stretches for 27 kilometers in the north to south direction along the western coastline of Andaman Sea in southern Thailand.
Koh Lanta lies on the west coast of Andaman Sea in between Krabi and Phi Phi Island. Large Size Island with 6 km wide and over 30 kms long, 9 beaches lie from north to south along the sunset coast. Stunning scenery, fantastic white sandy beaches, coastlines have more than 70 small islands and plenty with forest, coral reefs and under water life. The geography of the island is typically mangroves; coral rimmed beaches; and rugged tree covered hills.

Second in size to Ko Chang, Ko Kut is located in the southern-most point in Trat territorial waters. A speed-boat needs only one hour to reach the island whose inhabitants are growers of rubber, coconut and other fruit-yeilding plants, as well as fishermen. With scenic beaches shaded by rows of pines and coconut trees, mostly to the west of the island, it also is blessed with rich mangroves. Koh Chang Natinal Marine Park is a collection of over 40 large and small islands. The island chain is situated in the Gulf of Thailand approximately 8 km from the coast of Trat province. The main island Koh Chang is measured nearly 30 km long almost 14 km wide.
It is located in the southeastern region of Thailand close to the border with Cambodia. The island runs parallel to the coast and appears very mountainous from the shore due to the mountain ridge which runs the length of the island. Read the rest of this entry »

Ko Samet (or Koh Samet) is a national park of great natural beauty in the Rayong province, not so far from Pattaya and Bangkok. But the close distance is probably the only thing this island has in common with the other two. Ko Samet has fabulous beaches but a minimum of night life, bars and discotheques. Koh Samui has been settled for about 1500 years. The first arrivals here were fishermen. The island is to be found on 500 years old maps from Chinese Ming dynasty.
